Dr. Ulysses Chioatto

Ulysses has over 25 years’ experience in senior management corporate roles and is a lawyer, organisational consultant and an expert in governance, risk and compliance management. He has led and conducted over 300 corporate operations reviews, assessing risk management frameworks and regulatory and other legislative requirements for boards and senior management teams. He is a former Asia Pacific Director in Deloitte’s Enterprise Risk Services division, working in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan and South Korea.
More recently, Ulysses was the Executive Director and Head of Research Australia and New Zealand for Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS). In this role, he gained an invaluable insight into ASX 300 companies risk management frameworks by engaging with the Chairs of each company and the Chairs of their Risk Committees.
Ulysses has developed risk management frameworks from the grass roots of client organisations through to board level utilising ISO 31000, COSO and addressing Principle 7 of the ASX Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations. He has advised clients such as Westpac, MLC, National Australia Bank, Commonwealth Bank, BT Financial Group Perpetual, BNP Paribas, ANZ Bank, various fund managers and various state and federal government departments.

Ms Maxwell has extensive experience in providing strategic policy advice and evaluating outcomes. She has a comprehensive knowledge of, and experience in, end to end service and program development and evaluation including business analysis and process re-engineering.
Maria has worked as a Project Manager, Executive and Senior Consultant with clients and employers as diverse as Wesley Mission, Department of Community Services, Railcorp Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care, National Heart Foundation, NSW Health, UnitingCare. Her roles have included managing centres across NSW and the ACT with multi-million dollar budgets and developing and implementing organisational and fiscal reform to improve business efficiency and effectiveness, particularly within complex, resource deficient, operational environments.
She has a demonstrated capacity in developing new systems, policy and procedures and practically applying these new initiatives utilising change management principles, within a Government and NGO framework.
Maria has successfully implemented new initiatives, particularly new change programs or strategic directions from conceptual to implementation phase, develop and monitor project plans and evaluate outcomes. She has an established record in effective leadership and management at a senior level, including the ability to initiate and manage change and operational risks, allocate resources effectively and maximize staff potential across diverse program types and geographical locations.
Her qualifications include a Master of Business Administration, Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) - currently completing; Bachelor of Social Science, University of South Australia; and a qualified Auditor ISO 9000 framework.
